 Alligator Gar fishing and tagging on the Trinity

I found this youtube video dated Oct. 2014. They are trying for 100# gar and tagging what they catch and release. Even put tracking device on one and track his course on the river. 45 minute video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlfwhlMk2KA
My personal best is still swimming out there just getting bigger. One of these days I will quit feeding it.

 I think the part I liked best was seeing the tracking of the gar, there was no pattern of where he went, he could be anywhere in the river at any given moment.
My personal best is still swimming out there just getting bigger. One of these days I will quit feeding it.
