Out of all the lakes in the region, why do they go to the same ones? Not trying to stir anyone up I'm really just curious

Don't quote me on this but I think there are several reasons.
1)Somewhere that has some type of financal incentive for BASS
2)Somewhere that can handle 200+ boats for at least two days of fishing
3)A ramp and parking area that can handle that many boats and trucks

And close enough to a Bass Pro Shops for the day 3 weigh in.

I would think if a lake like Ft Gibson holds can hold an Open then there should be plenty of options

It is all four. Ramp parking, marina size, city financial incentives, and a Bass Pro within a reasonable drive.

Things that don't matter? That's the real question. Lol. Hotels, restaurants, safe lakes....
