There used to be a bunch in Lake Weatherford but since the lake level has been down for so long it seems like there's nothing left but yellow bass.

The Brazos in our area has been ok overall the last couple years. Have had a couple fantastic days here and there, but I live on the river near Tin Top and fish it quite a bit.

So far this year hasn't yielded much, but with the recent snow/rain runoff I may try again later this week. I will let you know how it goes.

I was told that you can only fish the Brazos from a boat bc it's all private land on the banks. Are there any walk in areas? I called the Brazos River Authority and got the run around and now waiting for somebody to call me back.

Was a mediocre trip. Weather was nice but between three of us we only managed to catch 18 fish. Got a double going as soon as we started fishing and thought we had found them schooling but the catch was off and on all the way from the boat ramp at tin top down to the mouth of lake Granbury from that point on. Two of us were fly fishing so we weren't catching near as many as we probably would have been fishing conventionally. I was a little bummed we never caught them schooling. Had a great time though! Bad day of fishing beats a good day at work!

You can access the Brazos at Oaks Crossing Rd. outside of Mineral Wells. To get a map of the location google Oaks Crossing Rd Mineral Wells Tx.
