Remember when a fishing show was a guy talking about trying to catch fish? Not anymore.
Anatomy of a modern TV fishing show: 1) Start off show with host angler wiping down his boat with one of his sponsor's cleaning products. 2) If tow vehicle throws in money for show, talk about how this truck outperforms every other truck whether that can be proven or just sounds good. 3) Angler must be decked out with hat, shirt and possibly jacket with main sponsor's logo. 4) Host angler must always bring a guest angler who is the CEO or Marketing Manager of main sponsor. 5) An in-depth discussion of rods, reels, line, hooks, terminal tackle, landing net, lures, boat, outboard motor, GPS, motor oil, sunglasses, cooler, and everything else in boat must be performed. 6) At regular intervals, host angler should use sponsoring lip balm or sun tan lotion. While using this product, host angler should mention how wonderful it is. 7) Energy drink usage is optional. 8) Throughout program host angler and guest angler must talk about sponsoring products incessantly. 9) Every fish caught must be referred to as a "giant, hog, pig or monster" even if they are barely even legal. 10)Singing (horribly), squealing, and/or downright goofiness bring in the viewers. 11)Using the entire duration of the show spent talking about one particular product such as diesel engines is acceptable and really brings in the bucks. 12)Show almost over. Fishing? Who has time to fish?

You got that right, or showing the same fish just from different angles. Saw one show where he {not mentioning any names}, caught a fish was wearing a white shirt, Next shot he had a different color shirt on same day! Things are not always what they seem!

Ya the good old day fishing show is great. Now its all about sponsoring stuff and talk.
Hardly watch any fishing show now since its damn boring. Youtube is the way to go now. Regular normal angler showing drag burning and take a min or less to talk about their rigs.

Yep - most of today's fishing shows are just one long in your face infomercial and its gotten worse. I've stopped watching many of them for that reason with Honey Hole being the exception.
The fishing show industry needs a new format.

n general I like Charter Communications cable services, BUT - for some unexplained reason they have decided to drop two of my most favorite networks. No longer available are WFN - World Fishing Network and Sportsman Channel. If you too are dissatisfied with this here is Charter's contact information copied from their web site: To file a complaint with Charter by telephone call our Customer Care Center at 1-888-438-2427. To file a complaint with Charter in writing, mail to: Charter Communications Attention: Customer Complaint 2 Digital Place Simpsonville, SC 29681

I know that a lot of people switched TV providers specifically to get WFN.

You see more fishing during the commercials than you'll see on a fishing show. They are not for me. I'd rather BE fishing.

I have Dish and have it for the outdoor channels. Now with that said the hunting shows are 3 or 4 to 1 for the fishing shows. I like Timmy Horton's show, he does a pretty good job, Honey Hole is all good, and Zona is hard to beat for the entertainment value. Once they open their mouth to start pimping a product over and over, delete!
