Hey guys, I just started got into fishing for a few a month now. so I am still a beginner. I am looking for a new rod and reel for jigging. I mostly fish on piers and kettle and etc. no offshore. I mostly aim for redfish when I go fishing. What would be best for me? Any help is much appreciated. Budget is $200-400.

Penn battle 2 is a good reel for start. Pair it with a ugly stick gx2 and your good to go. No need to spend huge money when your new and still learning the rope.
30lb braid or you can go higher if you like.

gander mountain has a sale going. I purchased a battle 2 rod and reel for less tan 150$.Already have caught some drums and reds and I am satisfied with the outfit for what it is worth.

I have a couple of Ugly Stik rods and an Ugly Stik Tiger rod I'd like to sell. One Ugly Stik has been used, the other one hasn't and still has a new sticker on it and the Tiger rod hasn't been used. If you're interested I can get you the model numbers and specs. They're located in Denton.

Bass Pro has the Spinfisher V 6500 with a jigging rod as a combo for a very reasonable rate.
