I'm heading down for the first time and need some advice on the lake, or opinions.

Get ready to fish deep. Great little lake!

It's small enough that you can cover all of it but as mentioned above be prepared to fish in very deep, very clear water. I've had luck with a white fluke and my buddy has been lucky with purple wacky worms.

Because it is so deep and clear, it will be one of the last lakes to warm up. Also the reason it can be great in the dog days of summer

nice boat ramp, nice restrooms, great scenery, deep, clean, clear, i always do good with wacky and shaky head around trees and rock piles. if you don't have any luck there are many more options near by: clear lake in cleburne state park, brazos river, nolan river, paluxy river, squaw creek lake . also hollywood and vine is a cool restaurant in downtown glenrose.

But, Watch for deer!

Find those deep schools and throw a big flutter spoon at them. You will catch fish all day long! Good luck!

Ive had good luck out there everytime I have went on a white chatterbait with a LFT Magic Shad trailer. Just fish it around submerged timber and rocks. Dont think I have ever not caught anything on it everytime I have gone out there.

Nice little lake. Several times I have been the only person there except for the caretakers. I enjoy the clear water and watching the fish. It is like looking at an aquarium. My favorite part of the trip is stopping at Hammond's BBQ in Glenrose!
