Anyone have any thoughts on the combination of snow melt/rain today pushing the creeks up enough for the males to start moving? Average temperatures around DFW look like they will finally hit the high 50's later this week. Reading other sections it looks like its definitely started down south. I was prowling the Benbrook creeks yesterday. Nothing moving except a few LMB and cats. Water was really flowing though. Clarity was excellent as well.

Saw one yesterday that had to be 2 pounds. Creeks are all up from the snow melt it is setting up perfect. The kid that caught that fish said that Saturday when it was sunny they tore them up. The cooler weather and rain yesterday slowed them down a little bit but we did manage a few fish but they are there along with some very big females I think that was the biggest Sandbass I've seen in a creek in the immediate DFW area. Not counting rowlett creek.

Females are already there! Dangit.

Well maybe this map has more to do with it than anything. We just aren't getting the rain west of Dallas.

Yea I don't know how good the numbers are on them temps dropped bad over night before I went. The kid caught that big one said they fished it the day before when it was warm and they did really good mostly big fish. I have two creeks in the dark red drought there with the timing of the rain I think the runs will still be good. All the ones north south and east of Fort Worth look to be great shape. Has anyone gone over Denton creek an 377 to check the water.

If we are really lucky pat cleburne will flood and the fish can get up past rock creek been several years since the last run there. There are piggys in there.

Went to hickory creek today and got skunked. Water was still pretty muddy and cold but flowing good. I bet fishing will get a lot better in the next few days.

I was on the Nolan above Pat Cleburne a month ago, super low. Water didn't get past the park.

Think I might take the wife to HC and check that out, have never been.
Several buddies are headed down the Brazos. I bet they get into some fish.

Place to be is above Whitney below is only resident fish. Above granbury run is not near as reliable. But if the Nolan has a run or not you get up past hc on brazos good fish to be had golden algae or not.

Mediocre day fishing between Tin Top and Lake Granbury yesterday. Everything we caught was good size but they were all spaced out. The three of us only ended up catching 18 altogether.
