It will be a memory and story that both of you will tell one day and look back on and laugh.

so sorry about the trouble. Not trying to steal your thunder, but my dad (PGR) and I are cursed when we plan a fishing trip. PappaMark and CoachWhite34 can back me up on this. We can go in late August when it hasn't rained in 4 months and it will storm like crazy right where we are. Last year we went to meet PappaMark and Coachwhite at Fork. It was upper 60's and even low 70's reported in the area the day before and it was about 29 and 25mph wind when we showed up at Oak Ridge to meet up with them, it was about this time of year too since Coach had the week off for spring break. The trip that Spags donated to me with Cody Malone got iced out last Feb. The day we went to make it up again the temp dropped about 30 degrees from the nice days before and the wind kept us off beds he had seen and been killing them off of for about 10 days. We are still trying to make up that trip. Cody was so nice to offer us to come back since we got there and couldn't fish where we needed and it was cold and windy. I do recommend that you book with Cody if you want someone who will take care of you and can put you on fish. I saw the log at oak ridge for the 7#+ and he about filled up 2 sheets from that week and his customers had most the other spots. PGR and I planned a trip to Toledo Bend in March of 2007 or 08 and we left Dallas in a snow storm. It snowed all the way to the lake and we stayed down just north of Pendelton Bridge. So we unhooked and sat in the room watching TV. We drove to Shereveport the next day as it was still windy and snowing. So our 4 day trip ended after driving there, goong to S-port, and leaving early the next morning.
Coachwihte and I are supposed to go tomorrow and it shows 10% rain and SSE5mph wind. I promise by the time I get there the win will be no less than 25+ and we'll never see the predicted 62 degrees.
The few times the weather is bearable we will have boat/trailer problems.
I should sell everything and play some online game.

The pies at the restaurant are fantastic. The peanut butter pie was my favorite. Apple would be my second.

It will be a memory and story that both of you will tell one day and look back on and laugh. this Yep my first trip to fork back 4 years ago I spun the prop on first run, then my dad fell in the water (48 degrees) while reaching for a rod he knocked over board.

First trip to fork 2013- A fisherman was kind enough to offer me a spot on his boat. I jumped at the chance. Told me to be there at 830am.
Coming up I30 about 6am heading East and at the interchange in downtown Dallas my life flashed in front of my eyes. A van heading West lost control in that funny middle lane hit the concrete barrier and almost went over it and hit me head on. Took me a few minutes to calm down. Got to Sulphur Springs had a few extra min and a What a burger breakfast burrito sounded good. Roll down my window to order and hear this loud hissing sound. Yep ran over a huge screw in parking lot. Called fisherman and said I am on my please don't leave without me. He said no worries take your time. Changed that tire Nascar style and made it to lake. Caught my biggest bass to date. 7 lbs
Second Fork trip 2014-- Buddy flew in from CA in July. Got down there and could barely fish and keep my 17ft boat afloat in gale force winds and huge rollers. Called it after a half day and started trip back. As I get close to Dallas on way back I notice my trailer tire looks like it getting low looking in mirror. Pull over and yep slow leak and tire is flat. Had no lug wrench that would fit. Took about 30 minutes of asking folks before I found someone with one of those star wrenches. Thank goodness I had a good spare.
That darn lake makes you earn it. You want to fish there and it will make some of us pay the price.
Planning my third Fork trip there next month. I am going into that trip prepping like a dooms dayer.
