My Grandfather and Dad told me their versions from back in the 40s and now I have passed it on to my son. Difference is that it was at Lake Trammell. Seems this lady got around.

Well appreciate the feedback. Glad it brought back some memories for some of yall. Think I'm gonna get my son and head out there lol. He doesn't like fishing but he likes ghost stories so I will get him to fish by telling him this story mua a a a a a a a a aaaa lol.

I saw her floating across the lake one evening....actually she was floating on the lake but Dallas CSI drug the body out so no shes not there...for now.

The story is a young woman in wet clothes stopped a couple driving around the lake at night once. She asked them for a ride to her house saying she fell in the water. When people would get to where the address was there was nothing in back seat of car but puddle of water. When they went to the door the people at that house said they had a daughter but she died the year before drowning in the lake.
Creepy! +1 same story I heard as a kid.

mikey6345 nailed the story as I have heard it over the years. Tommy Yetts nailed the reason for sharing that story on a moonlit ride around the lake with your girl.  Grew up in that area, and used that same story. Like Tommy said "real close" almost wished I would have drove Mom's car, freaking gear shifter!

I night fished White rock a lot about 5 years ago when I first started bass fishing. I don't know about the lady of the lake but the NUTRIA will scare the [censored] out of you. There are a ton of them and they are big and territorial. They would circle my little plastic boat like freaking sharks and bust the surface like a big bass with rabies. Not sure if anyone kayak fishes out there at night but I wouldn't!! 👹
