Ok, only -3.23 below full pool level. Does this mean they will FINALLY stop pulling water from Bridgeport and EM? Man, I would hope so....
(BTW: seems the Lakes on Line site is down - AGAIN!!)

There has to be water for human consumption

They will pull all the water they deem necessary

Our issue is really too many people and not enough water storage for supply. Having above average rainfall creates the illusion we have enough water. 6 weeks with no rain and watch the levels drop...

We need to build more private lake and lease them out, like deer leases. They would be better maintain than public lakes are. Sell only a small % to the water companys.

I thought they couldn't draw from Lake Worth because the water was too contaminated, misinformed?

Unless it has changed, the city of Fort Worth can draw raw water to their drinking water treatment plants from 6 lakes - Worth is one of them. The fish consumption advisory for Worth is the result of a study on contamination levels in fish (at least 15 years ago I think). The biggest concern was PCB (poly chlorinated biphenyls) and run-off chemicals from lakeside yards. I haven't read the report for over 10 years so I can't be very accurate.
As far as drinking water quality, Fort Worth has to meet State and Federal regulations for quality. The next time you get a Fort Worth annual drinking water report, look at the test result's section and you can see the results for what we drink.
According to an article in the FW Star Telegram last year, Fort Worth has an agreement with Lockheed not to allow the level in Lake Worth to go more than 4 ft. low (Lockheed also pulls water from the lake). I believe this is why the lake is "spared" compared to other area lakes. In my 11 years living here and fishing Worth, I haven't seen it go much lower than 3.5 ft.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

it does never seem to get below the 3.5. I though it would really drop after the dredge, I guess tehy just suck more water from the other lakes?

Good question - I don't know. Maybe someone on the forum can help answer??

We could get a hurricane and lake worth still wouldn't fill up. That lake is stuck at 3 to 3.5 ft low.
