Any info on the DUO brand of lures? They seem to be newest hot commodity in Peru with raving reviews from fellow hardcore fishing buddies. Great for flounders and corvinas (seabass) and the ones I handled looked very high quality and felt well balanced. Per their website reports they do well in Chile and Mexico too, but they seem unobtainable here unless online and at about 20$ each they are kind of expensive, but I was wondering if anyone has tried them here in the gulf.

Japanese "Pretty Lures" in general are the "In" thing now just about everywhere fishing. Because of the demand, and the amount of work, etc. that goes into them they are kind of pricy. I haven't used a one of those kind of lures, I just stick to the cheapies you get locally.
As bad as I feel when a toothy gets one of my $1 WalMart spinner baits, I would keel over in grief if I gave away a $20 lure, especially if I hadn't caught anything it until then.

Pferox that's what I was wondering. There are not a lot of sharp toothy things down in the cold waters of Peru, where flounders and corvinas are the prime target. Most lost lures are due to thick sargassum and rocky bottoms. However there is a large following of these brand of lures and some other british ones. I wonder if it is also due to ease of import vs. true better quality. Send me the link to your 1$ spinners that attract toothies, I'd like to try to hook one or two Here is a pic of a "Tide Minnow Slim" great for flounder and corvinas.

Ya I could never spend 20$ on a inshore lure.. For trolling stuff 20-50$ is about the norm.

Lures resemble a lure called a pins minnow. I had one and lost it. Really miss that lure since it did work unlike some of the trash on the market that catches fishermen.

Check Ebay, they have a whole slew of inexpensive lures, some work, some not. MY spinnerbaits came from WalMart off of the shelf, used to be $0.99 probably a couple of bucks now, haven't bought any in a while. They worked pretty good for reds, and trout.
