I' ve used Abu Garcia rods executively. I like their rods but I'm tired of breaking line guides. Whats a good rod in that same price range with line guides that hold up better?

If you like your rods you could always change out the guides with recoil...

I have "not" bought and used one yet, but I've read and watched several videos on the H20 Ethos rods. That's what I'm buying next for one of my reels.

It's a Sports Academy rod.

What price range are we talking? Abu has rods that range from 50-400 dollars. I have a couple of Veritas rods and have never had any issues. I do not use braided lines on those rods. Braids can wear your rods out if their not set up for it.

TFO rods, these rods are sensitive and have all the backbone you could need. All around good rod brand and priced around $100

I use the Vertias, Vendetta and Volatile series. I would like to stay around 100$ price range. I'm not knocking Abu stuff i just seem break a lot of guides off.

Not sure what you are doing, but you have to be doing something to cause this. Which guide is the one that breaks or is it all of them?

Not really sure what guides Abu uses but you would need to find out and then check other manufacturers because they all use just about the same. Seems Fuji is most common. There is a rod maker that uses a flex guide. You can bend them and they snap back to position. I think it is Bulldawg Rods and they run about 120-150 for the bass models depending what length you want. I am not 100% on that though.

Before you begin the expensive process of changing out all of your rods I would recommend buying a couple of the type you think would work and keep those with the remaining rods you fish with. If you have the same guide issue with the newer rods then it is probably something you are doing and not the guides.

I would highly recommend the falcon bucoo line of rods. Standard guide rods are generally priced at $99 and are some of the best you will find at that price point.
