Mustad extra wide gap has been good to me. For treble hooks I like Owner Stingers.

i have been using the Gamaktsu superline hooks and very pleased. Speakin of that- I have 1 left..thanks for reminding me...

ones I want to try-- the "Daiichi" hooks. Maybe I will buy those instead of my regular Gami's and post how they do. supposed to be super sharp- which means I get a better hookset when I am cold- cause I dont set the hook too well when I am freezin my butt off!

I have always used Gammys but I have invested a large amount of money in owner hooks and mustad hooks. So I am going to venture to some other brands. I can honestly say that Gammys are excellent hooks, just that I have heard nothing but good on these other two brands, and I came into some excellent deals on the Owner hooks and I was able to get excactly the type of hooks I wanted from Mustad.

I used Gammi EWG red hooks until 9-10# bass on Tawakoni straightened one out straight. I went back to Mustad, wish I had never left. The Gammi's were availible locally, Mustad's mean a trip to BPS.

Be surprised.... be real surprised... if you get three chunkers who give you the same choice.
Been tossing mustads too long to change now.

I guess that kinda depends on what you're fishing for, right?

I like Gamakatsu, Eagle Claw, and Owners myself.

I use only Owner for worm hooks and until recently was stuck on Excalibur for trebles. However, just bought some Sure Set trebles at Academy to test. They look awesome.
