This was taken by someone else on 2/14, from the 180 bridge looking west.

They have extended the ramp by the dam again and it's usable according to the guy I talked to on the phone at the water office in abilene. He did say it might not be real smart to launch a 21 ft boat though. I wish someone with some more knowledge would chime in. I love that lake!

I went and checked it out today. I think you could launch a light weight boat there but a bigger boat will sink in the mud. They put gravel too the edge of the water and but nothing in the water for a base.

The death of a great lake. That lake plan hates me but I loved knowing what could have been. This lake will dry and a town out of water if it don't rain soon.

Hubbard was that low once before and bounced back. I remember just a few years ago being able to fish all the way up at lost creek, and all the way up Hubbard creek past the bridge.

Sadly the lowest it has been before now was 19 foot. It is now 30 foot low. The last time it was this low was when they built it. In April Abilene is supposed to only be able to pump 50% of what they can now but boy they are sucking it out while they can.
I have a place here on the lake and it is a shame.
Hopefully it rains pretty soon, the ground is pretty saturated out here and a heavy rain will put some water back in the lake. When it does there will be a lot of hood cover.

My grandparents just sold their place on the lake, such a sad sight being that I grew up on that lake. Grandad put a boat-dock in around 2003, it only had water under it for maybe 5 years.

A buddy and I found a heck of a deal on a lot out there a few years ago, at the time the water was only maybe 50 yards away from the back of the lot, I imagine it is hundreds of yards by now, glad we did not buy that lot and build on it, the lake will be back one day, I just hope the bass fishing follows suit.

For those of you that may not be familiar with the lake, that building in the far left of the picture just to the right of the bridge is Sandy Creek Marina. That's got to be hundreds of yards from water right now...
