I am getting ready to install some LEDS on my kayak. Where do you put your switches? I don't have a center hatch so I can't put them inside a "dry" area. I am worried about the switches getting wet. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help

There's a different versions of Pelicans. Do you have any acces to the hull area of the kayak. I know some of the sit top kayak made by Pelican do not have any hull access. What model of Pelican is it?

It's a pelican Icon 120x. The only access is the front hatch. I want to be able to turn on/off switches while out on the water.

If this is the type of kayak you have I would put a waterproof type toggle switch in this general area.

Depending on the particular waterproof switch and your installation of it.. I coat all of my installations with " liquid electrical tape, (LET) " over my solder joints or crimp connections. On inline connections I put the LET on it and and use shrink tubing before the LET sets up. You have a bullet proof connection with little effort or cost.
Also put dielectric grease on all you connections, even plugs for your FF and battery connectors to prevent corrosion/oxidation.
You can get both at auto parts stores. I get my waterproof switches from Tanner electronics. I remove the rubber covers and fill the space aith dielectric grease also. Can't hurt anything and displaces air so water cannot enter or condense.
Tight lines, Phill
