If the majority of people are releasing big fish and limiting their numbers why is everyone worried? It would only mean the trend is to turn big blues back and guides influencing new anglers should only speed up the message. Let's just stop all this petition stuff and say to each his own. There ya go, bringing common sense into the mix. You better be careful what you wish for. Changing the rules will have negative effect on some people's livelihood. Reduce the daily limit and people won't be hiring guides. Slot or length limit will put the hurt on the budding catfish tournaments. All you folks are sounding like the bass fishermen now. Remember there are more people that fish for food than for glory. And those are the one's paying the bills at TP&W. Man, I couldn't disagree more. Reducing bag limits to 10-15 catfish per person (or any other fish for that matter), per day is not going to hurt my business in the least. Heck, i'm in favor of it. And, are the bass circuits hurting because they have to deal with slots on several lakes they fish? No. Neither will the catfish tournys. All you are attempting to do. Is Outlaw. Trotlines, and Jugs. Bottem line. Run Guide Trips for Trophy- Blues. No Live Bait. Only Artifical. You do that. I'm the first one in the boat with you.

What is the survival rate. Of all the Big-Blues released??? that's a question i've wondered many times. Over the years we've had a couple die right on the boat. Almost like they gave it all they had then just flat died. The dead blues i've found on the lake floated to the top. I assume they all do that? I dunno. If so, I see about 5 floating a year but they are always in August/September when most aren't targeting them. If I had to guess based on how hard the fish swim off, I think the the survival rate is pretty darn good. I will know better next year as we will be dart tagging and keeping logs on fish. I'll post results we find.

I have fished with reputable guides in the past & I can definitely say that a good day is 10 - 15 fish. Any even better day is 10-15 fish that we release because they are over 10#. I have had my own boat for a few years now and the same rules apply. Please enlighten me on who is paying the bills. I thought it was all of us

What is the survival rate. Of all the Big-Blues released??? . I would be willing to bet that it's almost 100% higher than the ones that get the knife

I took a gander at your website SALSA .... over 125 pictures of trophy fish since January 1st , 2015. Pretty good numbers, considering it's only March 5th! Explain the scarcity of big fish. I'm not sure we need more government. Petitions typically bring out the resistance of the party they are pointed at.

Petitions typically bring out the resistance of the party they are pointed at. the scarcity is in relationship to numbers of fish caught on trips in the past years vs. trips today. We still catch fish, Also, on weekends we have out 3-5 boats and during the week it's normally 2 boats a day. It's not just ONE boat catching those fish. Hope that helps,

I'm with you that lake is crazy. It's got to be one fertile sob. Compared to other lakes I've fished the shad are healthier and the fish are healthier. I remember a bass champs championship where they caught a hawg of a bass. Some lakes got it, some lakes had it, some lakes never will. It's a big fish factory a freak of nature. Choke canyon was the bomb until it dropped like a bad habit but twok hasn't faded that I'm aware of. Just be blessed to be a part of such an awesome fishery and keep on keepin on. But hey that's just my opinion.

Even the mighty bluefin tuna finally got hammered to a point of desperation. The point of new regulations will be preventive. The decline is real. It is easier to keep a lake sustained rather than make it rebound. Pure and simple.
