I signed this petition a while back but in my opinion it doesn't need to be a Tawakoni thing it needs to be Statewide

Perfect example I saw on Facebook today. No it is not illegal, but really do you need to keep that much catfish?

lets see: Why the blue cat need laws changed is locked GetBentFishings thread yesterday was deleted after about 20 minutes. and now this one today. Contrary to popular belief TPWD is managing Tawakoni and has been doing a great job forever. The blue cat population is as good or higher than ever. In the most recent tournament the top ten teams caught 1,484# of blues and that is limited to five fish per team. That is 50 fish averaging 29.68# per fish, in less than ideal conditions in 8 1/2 hours of fishing. Yep Tawakoni is really low on bigger blues. Many people have been taking large numbers of blues out of the lake for many many years. A lot longer than you or others realize, it has not hurt the population. The lake record continues to climb yearly and it is known as The Catfish Capitol of Texas. When lots of people are fishing and continually showing big blue cat catches what do you expect? If you dont expect it to be crawling with blue cat fishermen, you might need to think again. We have an ample amount of fish and game laws and really dont need additional, you release your big fish just as I do but others keep theres and it is within there rights to do so. Well said. As technology increases number of catching is flat out hogwash, the guides has all adv electronics, but they don't flock to lake Lewisville, they don't catch many fish there. A few guides on here fishing both lakes, but settled in Tawakoni because there better fish population in Tawakoni, Per large fish catches declined, my experience is the opposite. My preference is blue cat 3_15, for the last 5 years, often that I fill my cooler each trip. Not so last year. But dangit caught 45# 38# 35# the last 4 trips and prolly 5 total small catfish. Lastly, I found it extremely arrogant by some to demean those who catch fish with trotlines or jugs. Personally, l fish from bank with rod n reel, no boat nor have l the times, if l have boat, l would like to do jugs line to fill my cooler some day.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Do you guys think this will ever go any where If it does I hope its on all lakes That's kinda like the question I get from customers the night before they fish with me, lol "Ya think we we are gonna catch fish tommorrow?" My answer is always the same. Don't know till ya go, In answer to your question...I hope so. One thing I KNOW for sure...if we keep silent and don't TRY to change it...It never will.

They want to have their clients happy with a lot of fish for pictures or eating.

It needs to be statewide! Catfishing isn't just a leasurely sport anymore, and because of the popularity and high tech equipment, you have to depend on luck a lot less nowdays. Throw in the fact that trotliners and jugfishermen still take their share. It's also a business for a lot of people, and without some regulation those trophy blues will be in jeopordy.
Just one more cast!

Example lakes like calaveras it's rare to catch big blues now while in last few years we have seen most big fish on cleaning table . Last time i was at the lake there were few folks jug fishing 5 of them caught around 120 catfish saw them at cleaning table most of the blues there were between 10-15pounds . This happens every few months where people camp all weekend ....run trotlines/juglines at night catch around 400-500 easy . Was surprising how most folks don't care about the fishery instead focus on filling freezer.
