Has anyone used the Uncle Josh 2" Meat Leech bait?

Saw a outdoor TV show where they caught redear and crappie all day long on the same pork rind. Looks convenient and cheaper than worms when you want a natural bait. Their website says WalMart carries their line, but I haven't checked to see if they have the leech.

I have never used the Uncle Josh Baits. Worth given em a try! hmmm Always open to using a new bait especially if it gets good results. hooked

Side Note: Will be making a Walmart run tonight! If they have em I will give em a try! Love catching a lot of fish using the same piece of bait. cheers

Let me know what you find out. Sunfish spawn on Lake Bastrop will start soon. I will look for these baits and let you know. Bastrop has some of the largest redear sunfish I have seen this side of northeast Texas!

I have fished Lake Bastrop a couple of times and would love to fish it more. I have heard prior reports of some nice Redear caught on that lake. Are there any good bank spots to fish? The time I fished there it was by boat.

Yes! Definitely used Uncle Josh's products in the past. They, like other pork products, were Gulp! Alive! before Gulp! Alive! I used to cut ribbons off their frog trailer and trim them until I thought it imitated a leech well. They seemed to work better on Redear than Bluegill. They work much better during the colder months compared to the warmer months. If you can find a deep hump or deep brush pile during warmer months, they may be worth giving a try, but a beavertail grub or some other plastic would probably work better and definitely work faster. Hope this helps.

Problem with L. Bastrop from the bank is getting past the large shoals of hydrilla. There are a couple fishing piers but $6 a head entrance fee you probably would do better elsewhere.

I used the Uncle Josh baits when I first started to fish for Sunfish. Love em. I now use mainly small spinner baits, jigs, and Gulp Alive products.
