the one thing i had to get used to with braid is having scissors to cut it cleanly .

the sensitiviy is worth it to me. the cheap fiskers saftey scissors work well but are bulky .
i found this fishing tool that works great and is not bulky . i like it so much i ordered a second one as a backup in case i lose it.

Jeff is right on about the scissors. Cut at an angle too like you would cut rose stems. That helps getting it through those painted jig heads that aren't all the way cleaned out.

I need to check it out thumb

Got mine in the mail yesterday and spooled up a couple of reels a bit ago. Think I am going to like this stuff. 1st braid I have ever used for crappie fishing. Seems to be easy to work with and doesn't fray when cut like some of the other braid I used on catfish reels. Thanks Josh for the 2 bonus packs of soft plastics as well. thumb

Keep on fishing.

I use the Fiskars safety kids scissors but I really like that Boomerang tool. Thanks for sharing.

I've been using Braid for 5-6 years now and love it. But with the cost of the braid, I have started putting cheap Mono on the first 3/4 of the spool, then finishing out the spool with the braid. This way I can respool about 3-4 reels with 1 new spool of braid. Saves me money, and still get the strength I like in crappie fishing.

I do the same, and with using a fluoro leader, you don't loose any of the braid.

Aren't crappie a little line shy if you use only braid?

I use to think so, but not so much anymore. I do believe in very clear water it might make a difference, but so far this year, it hasn't made any difference in deep water.

Sure is faster and easier not to have to fool with a leader.
