I just got the Eagle FishMark 320c fishfinder.

Two questions...

1) Can anyone else tell me if they like/dislike this unit?

2) Does a boat rocking (even slightly) affect the performance of sonars?

I was reading some information on how fishfinders work and it seems like a rocking boat in the 'every day' waves would slightly affect the output of a fishfinder. As the boat rocks, so does the sonar arch and subsequent returns. I am just curiious. I haven't yet installed it - just got it today smile

rocking doesn't effect SONAR much. The bottom will appear rippled from going up and down on the waves but the fish show up fine. Probably better if you are going slow as this makes the cone sweeps the bottom returning arches instead of straight lines!

I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

Going fast is probably not a problem with my 12 ft boat and 5HP motor smile

I love my 320, and it has really helped put more fish in the freezer this year.

Religion is a guy in church thinking about fishing. Relationship is a guy fishing thinking about God!

I love my unit too. If there's a lot of rocking and rolling, instead of a flat line for the bottom you may see what I can best describe as the outline of blades of grass, especially when drifting.
