Just bought me a Go Pro Hero 3 and bought a head mount and suction cup mount. I know I will use the head mount especially for in my kayak but was gonna ask which one yall prefer for in the boat. A suction cup mount or the clamp goose neck mount and reasons as to why. Thanks

I kayak fish and have a boat too. The suction cup is good on the big motor fot the whole boat but one thing to not forget about a Gopro is that you may think you are close but youre not. I have had footage so many times I was pissed about because it wasn't what I remembered(mainly hunting or deer walking to bank and drinking while fishing) the closer the better.......it does not preform well after 20' or more. I mostly use the clamp and out it on top of my graph. I found that works the best

Go to bassmaster YouTube page and watch all the tournament footage under "gopro" you can easily tell where it is mounted and what it looks like. Some awesome footage on there including every catch from Casy Ashley winning the Classic last week,

I have the yakattack mount for the kayak that locks in the track system

Suction cup is great for boats. That's what I use, I either put it on my windshield or the side of my boat but on the inside, I have a single console so I putnit where the passanger console would be if I had one. I would get a 3 way little clip and just keep all the bolts about 75% tight so you can turn and pivot around a little bit. It has worked great for me, the head strap gets to be a pain for me and I don't enjoy wearing it. I've used a homemade clamp mount before the flex one by gopro even came out. Clamped on windshield or anything else I can get on. Overall I would choose the suction cup over everything else, just a very versatile mount

I use one of the adhesive things that the camera snaps into. I have one on my motor and one on the console by my graph. I put a lot of trust into the adhesive on the motor mount and it hasn't failed me yet "Knock on wood" But with fishing with my partner it picks up all the action from both of us. The down side is that I have to run a power cord from the cigarette power outlet to the back of the boat and be conscious of the direction of the camera. If im by myself I put it on the console. Its all worth the headache when you get the clips all cut up.

Alright thanks to all of you! Some very good information here. Thanks for all the details. I can't wait to get my first set footage here soon.
