starting to remind me of reading the news paper so you can go to bed without anything on your mind lol. if I share lake name, bait I was using, depth I was fishing and location, and 15 of you showed up at my spot the next day I would say lets have a BBQ at lunch and then get back at it. but ByoB.  just report good fishing or bad.

Been a member a member going on 13 years,I remember my old skeeter boat had a lowrence paper graph and a flasher,we put brush piles in line with land marks,and life was good.
I think GPS has changed crappie fishing almost as much if not more than SI or DI ,and like a few other "old timers" I don't read and post as much as I used to because of a lot of the BS you have to wade through to find anything worthwhile.
I think now I just call or text(something else we did not do then)a buddy and get the latest and head out to find them with the latest gadgets my limited budget can afford.

Believe me I lke to BS as much as anyone, but even i get sick of having to wade through thread after thread to get to anything meaningful. No BS is boring to which is why I like the bass section! I do find way more useful things in the bass section. I've ordered some stuff and have tried some new techniques after having read some things on there. I bet I haven't picked up anything new here in months or longer.
Maybe there just isn't that many different ways to catch a crappie I don't know. I like reading and seeing new baits and equipment for sure, but then it becomes a contest to see who can kiss the most butt and it begins to lose its value IMHO and mine alone. Thanks for introducing me to the forum when you did, I got a little taste of the good life before it all went away.. I used to check this thing daily and make multiple post daily also.. I have met some great people from this forum, and have learned loads of information about the sport of crappie fishing. Don't get me wrong there are still some good posters on here but they are far and in between IMO. Ha! It's hard to imagine that you were in 7th grade when that happened! Time flies when you're having fun! I'm glad you're on here and has been fun watching you grow up to be a man. Keep at it and keep your positive attitude!

Just turned 13 years for me. Met a lot of great people on here and swapped a ton of information for sure back in the day. I am not on here near as much any more because there does not seem to be as much information shared...and I am as guilty of that as others. I think I'll return for a little while and see how things develop...as I don't mind sharing info at all. Awesome Brian. I used to be working when you were doing your Play by Plays! Yeah need to do some more play-by-plays this spring

For the most part, I've enjoyed TFF, especially the Crappie Forum, except for a couple of occasions. The Crappie Forum use to be an effective source of information on a number of fronts; not so much now. I trace the decline to Jun 25, 2012. I countered that by changing the way I navigate the forum but overall, the Crappie Forum isn't top shelf as it once was. Hopefully, it will regain its past glory.
