That is going to be one of the first uses of the SI unit I'm about to buy, as soon as I get it installed.

I tried a time or 2 with a graph but the trees and brush about made it useless. Maybe we were doing it wrong? Unlike in a boat where you are moving and can sorta tell what your marking, in our slip it only shows a whole huge bunch of tree limbs.

Years ago, we fished the slips at Grapevine and in the heat of summer, we'd catch crappie and a few bass from just before sunrise to about 9 or 930 am, then they quit.
Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Unlike in a boat where you are moving and can sorta tell what your marking, in our slip it only shows a whole huge bunch of tree limbs. using a ice fishing type graph that tell you when A fish enters the cone real time could be something that helps. They are calledflasher units. They give a 360 degree circle view of whats under the cone , on a screen.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I wish my 898 had the flasher screen for stationary fishing, as you can easily tell when a fish comes into the cone view, its depth, and its distance in relation to your jig. The real time sonar window can do the same thing but its much harder to read, because its not layed out in a 360 degree circle on the graph.

I intend to be moving. I am going to set it at 50' and slowly troll up and down the length of the dock to get a picture of what is under all the slips and which of them hold fish. I will be scanning the fishing barge at the same time to see what is there. I will do this each time I take the boat out so I will develop a pattern of when the dock holds fish and if it holds them at all times of the day.

Coincidentally, i just watched a tv show the other night that was about ice fishing flashers about some guy who apparently was a pioneer in that technology starting back in the early 70's. The technology has come a long way of course. My pea brain didn't put 2 and 2 together to figure out the difference in what you see on a flasher vs. a LCD graph. I wish i had kept some of the old flashers I had over the years, but the degrees of the transducer cones were probably way too big and i doubt if they sell replacements for those old units. I think I may look for a used one of the modern ice fishing specific ones and give it a try. I had got pretty proficient way back when at reading my old flasher on the boat when that was all I could afford at the time LOL. Thanks for the suggestion and the links.

maybe i wasn't totally clear on what i was asking originally i am patterning docks or trying to anyway that we fish off of in the winter i am trying to decide if in most cases what the most likely scenario is on the bite windows we see a trend on several docks similar to what Kodys Papa posted what i am wondering is do we think that most of the fish that are in the feed window are there all day long ? or move into and out of the cover during low light conditions ? like i said i think i have a general idea but would love to hear from other dock folks if they have the same kind of experience and in a lot of cases we don't get to hit the prime lowest light conditions on given docks some slips are private access only and so on and so forth limiting our ability to use them when it might make a difference thanks in advance Well ..... lately I have been paying more attention to the lunar tables and it appears to me at this time there is something to them. I have been catching more larger fish during the major, and the minor periods. Don't know why .. but can't argue much with success.

Do you have a problem with water clarity when you use the aqua view camera? I was going to buy one but was told I would not be able to see much in these N. Texas lakes due to all the junk in the water. By the way I haven't forgot about the report I promised you on how your attractor works for my wife with her Parkinson. It just that bad health struck both of us about the time I received it and she hasn't been able to fish for the last fourteen months. Hopefully we will be able to fish more a month or two from now and will be able to test it with her to see if does make the crappie hold on just a little bit longer than normal.
