Saw where the east ramp on Robinson Park is blocked off with barriers.not sure about the other ramp on the west .now there is no public ramps working. Also the lake level is rising,it is over 2'up since the beginning of winter.Still need to be aware of the low water hazards out there.

Supposed to have a good bit of rain coming at the end of this week into next week. Gained about a foot this last week. Just need another 2 or 3 ft and I'll be happy for a while.

The Dallas City Council approved the sale of Elgin B. Robertson Park to the City of Rowlett, specifying that the proceeds and interest from the deal would be used for new facilities and improvements to the Dallas park system.
Rowlett will annex the property, a 257-acre green space off Interstate 30 with facilities for hiking, boating and fishing along the western shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. Dallas gets to improve and refurbish its parks.
The proceeds and interest from the deal will be used for new facilities and improvements to the Dallas park system. Dallas Park and Recreation Department director Willis Winters said in a statement that the city council's action will allow the department to develop new aquatic facilities, including five new community centers and three new regional centers. "We are excited that Dallas residents will reap the recreational benefits of this sale," he said.
The sale is expected to close sometime between April and September.
In 2012, the Dallas Park and Recreation Board adopted a plan to find money to build family aquatic centers and replace the city's outdated community pools. In 2013, Dallas voters passed a proposal calling for the sale or exchange of the park.
As part of the sale agreement, Dallas will redraw the park's boundaries to reflect its location within Rowlett and give Rowlett two sites on the property to develop new marinas. In addition, Dallas will transfer to Rowlett the park's existing marina lease and first responder and public safety responsibilities for designated lake bridges.
Rowlett will take over trash removal and other maintenance functions that are currently being handled by Dallas Water Utilities. That'll save Dallas $57,000 annually.
In exchange for the boundary adjustments, Rowlett agreed to a revenue-sharing plan beginning in 2036 that will give Dallas 25 percent of Rowlett's tax revenues on real and personal property, hotel occupancy, mixed beverages, and future tax opportunities. Annually, Dallas stands to receive $2 million indefinitely from the agreement.
Rowlett city manager Brian Funderburk said that plans for the area include developing high-end, single-family and multifamily residences, as well as commercial properties such as restaurants and hotels. The money for the purchase is coming from Rowlett's development partner, Donahue Development.
Dallas Park and Recreation Board president Max Wells called it "an unprecedented opportunity for our city and its great park system."

There are survey stakes in the area of the ramp, and parking lot. I assume this will be the new home of Dallas police and fire, and no longer a public ramp. It just keeps getting better and better.

Just talked to Willis Winters assistant (he is the big wheel at Parks and Rec) she made some phone calls and called me back. She spoke to the Maintenance director, she said Dallas will continue to maintain the ramps. He told her they would open when he could launch his boat. Now the campaign begins, just fired off 3 letters. My girl wrote the letters (lawyer). Took these pics today.

Hey Lakewood, is there a phone number that I can help by calling and petitioning? Or an address to help write some letter pleading for the ramps to be opened again. Anything I can do to help get them back open.

it didnt seem to bother them when the lake was two feet lower.the east ramp was almost useable, what would be the safety part?it's your boat.7he lake is less than 8' low .started at 10 1/2 at the lowest.i am in the marina but the depth is what put me there.i couldn't get in my boat.

I think the safety concern may be due to the marina moving the boat slips so far out blocking the channel to get to open water from the ramp. Looks like plenty of room to me but not everyone can control a boat. Just a thought.
Let me know what you find out coach.

Just got off the phone with city of Dallas. I reported a complaint/service request as to why the ramps are now closed. I explained to the nice lady that the lake is higher now and I have been able to launch safety when it was lower. Gave her lake depth levels as well of when it was opened and useable compared to what they are now. I should be contacted within 5 days with an explanation and hopefully an answer to when they will open again. She thinks they may have closed them due to ice conditions and what not and just forgot to reopen them....
