Just make sure you spool up some new line before you go. +1; That is if you have not done so in the past month or two!

Just make sure you spool up some new line before you go. +1; That is if you have not done so in the past month or two! I change line more often than most people. I started that habit 30 years ago when fishing tournaments..."control the things you have control of". That's why I'm asking about the right line for Fork. Line is one of the things I'm particular about. I will be changing line within days of heading to Fork....just want to spool up with the line most guides and Fork regulars use.

I'm most comfortable using 20 at Fork just because of the stumps and trees. Where your failure will come from is the knot or the hook. What I've learned from the Stren Knot Machine is when you cinch down a knot and the more twists in the knot, say trilene knot or San diego cinch knot, those are weaker knots if you scrap the main line. That's why the palomar works the best. Learned from couple of the guides many years ago that an offset hook gets a better % of hookups. If you ever have looked at the jaw bones in big fish you'll understand why there are a lot of big fish missed. Most hooks arent big enough to penetrate. Most hook sets get skin only and come unbuttoned . Always pay attention to the small things.
