Depending on how purty you require it to be...Aluminum sheet metal can be cut to make a cover plate, then drilled and cut out to fit your needs.Clear coat it, or prime and paint it whatever color you want.Just need a drill and a jig saw,and a little sandpaper.Use rivets or stainless screws to mount it.

Make you a panel out of 1/4 or thicker Plexiglas ,once youve got your pamel cut to fit ,sand the edges smooth and rough up the backside 'and paint the backside with whatever color you like ,now its painted and you can't rub or scratch it off, before you cut the glass, tape the glass with blue painters tape on both sides'use a marker to draw your panel , cut your panel to shape and use a fine scroll blade, the tape keeps the glass from splintering as well as a template for cutting. ,I've done this on a few boat where in dash graphs came out ,hinged the glass , put a basket on the backside and made a me mini glove box, looked factory ,hope that helps

Just redid mine with 1/4" aluminum and made a glove box door to match too.

Thanks guys am really happy with the results too. A few years ago I did a simular project where I put in all new gauges took out the speedo and added a water pressure gauge. When I originally did it I just used a piece of ABS plastic it was cheaper and a lot easier to work with but after a while it started cracking where the screws were and I know what you're thinking but I hand tightened them just to where the panel wouldn't move so tightness should not have been an issue. If you are just replacing the dash panel 1/8" aluminum would have been sufficient I went with 1/4 because I planned on making a matching glove box door. I am also considering getting the panels anodized blue to match the boat and if sun reflection is an issue. Here's what it looked like when I originally did it. It looked pretty good but not quite the same. And after. Not too bad for a 25 year old Ranger that's run almost 80mph.
