I'm wanting a small yak to fish a pond in my neighborhood. Looking at Jackson cruise 10 is this a good choice or not.

Yes. Quality boat with good hi/lo seat. You may want to add a few features such as rails/rod holders but for a small pond boat, it would likely meet your needs very well. Are you buying new or used? If buying new, there are other boats in that same price/quality range that you may want to compare and consider. A good place to check them out would be Mariner Sails and/or Mountain Sports in the DFW area.

I had one for the wife, its a decent yack. The cruise was solid and pretty light which is a plus. Less stable than my cuda for sure but not terrible.

I found a good deal at mountain sports. What other kayaks should I take a look at?

I just looked at Mt. Sports site and yes, looks like some good deals right now on those boats - can't go wrong IMO. Also, not sure if you are stuck on a 10 but I think up to 12' boats work well for pond fishing and give you flexibility for larger water and usually easier to re-sell. Usually a little heavier so hauling and getting to the water is not as easy as a 10' so those are trade-offs to consider.
Comparable boats would include:
Wilderness Systems Ride 115/115X Native Ultimate 12/FX 12 (Hybrid not SOT) Native Slayer 12 Nucanoe 10 Jackson Cuda 12 Old Town Predator MX
Can't say how actual pricing would compare - you would just have to get quotes. I'm sure I've left some out and others may have suggestions. As always, if you can pull off a demo just to find the boat that feels best to you, it is highly suggested. I don't think you can go wrong with the Cruise or any of the boats above. GL
