Anyone have suggestions for making a supporting frame for my boat cover on a ZX-225 Skeeter? I saw a video on using 1/2 inch pvc pipe, but not sure how I will attach it to the sides of my boat (it was for a boat with side rails).

Look at pvc pipe. You can glue it or just stick it together. Its light and strong. Easy to put in and take out.

Skip, how do you secure the ends of the pvc to the boat?

You don't, you build it to place the cover over to hold it up some so the water will run off and not sag it.

You might consider this as an option. Find some aluminum crutches on craigslist with the push buttons to adjust the height. Get two 5 gallon buckets and a bag of sakrete. Cut the crutches down at the handle and cement them upside down in the buckets. You can adjust the as needed.

pvc or a wooden dowel that will fit inside your seat post holder on your deck will work too. just put a tennis ball over the top.

One piece of pvc pipe placed between the console(s) stood up on it's end will do the trick. That's all I have under my boat cover.
You didn't specify what kind of boat cover you have.

You can buy a little aluminum pipe that extends and twist locks, tie down cover on one side of the boat, and slide stick under cover from other side. weight will hold it in place. tie down and your good. Think I got mine from bass pro or academy.

I used to put a high back plastic lawn chair in the floor of mine. it stuck up just right to take the slack out of the middle.

if you use pvc don't glue them together so you can easily take apart later.

10' piece of PVC with T's on either end. Let the pipe bow up with ends supported inside the gunwales. One day under the cover out in the sun and the pipe will take on the bow permanently.

Think I got mine from bass pro or academy. These work good, IF you make a base for them to hold them upright when the wind lifts the cover. Got mine at Bass Pro.
