Try power plant Lake Welsh & Monticello in Mt Pleasant. You can stay at Regans close by.
Cypress and Bob Sandlin are also close if you like a cold water lake break.

I would listen to Rmax, the power plants lakes will still be warm, the snow and ice along with 20 mph winds has definitely cooled the cold water lakes down again. Welsh, Perky or Martin would be good lakes and have been producing some good numbers lately, Lake of the Pines is close by as well if you want to hit a cold water lake.

I am not making any decisions until the bourbon kicks in!

Monticello's power plant hasn't been running this winter. The water temps were 50-51 last weekend.

Unless you want to fish in Kansas type cold and wet, I'd delay your trip for a week or so. Wintry mix and North Winds today, tomorrow and Saturday for the Mt. Pleasant area which is North of DFW about two hours. I would avoid I-30 like the plague if it gets icy.

Good Luck and always another day to fish!
