Anyone know or recommend a builder for a retaining wall at Fork? Looks like United Construction on 515 has closed down about the time I'm finally ready to build a wall.

I don't know who he used but west fork landing has been installing a retaining wall. You might call Bob and ask him who he is using. Really looks nice.

Th existing lake levels are the new normal until East Texas lets Dallas build a new reservoir. They're punishing everyone till they get that new lake.

Is it legal to build a retaining wall close to new water line and back fill it? In other words....making your own land, point, etc...????

I will say one thing, DO NOT USE A GUY NAMED RONNIE WESTBROOK. He put up a bulkhead for me two years ago and he WILL NOT come back to fix what has been messed up since day one. He also built another around the bend from me and it completely fell in two weeks after completion. Both bulkhead were not built out of wood. They were built out of the heavy duty poly corrugated stuff. Looked into legal actions but he already has builders leans on him. Nothing we can do but give him a good [censored] whooping when I find him.

This is on lake Murvaul out of Carthage

Not sure but have to think when the lake is back to full at some point your investment will be completely washed out...unless you make it about 10' tall. Sounds like an extremely bad idea to me.

If you build it on land that you don't own, you're risking having it torn down and having the bill sent to you for the tear-down. I would never construct anything on land that my survey didn't show that I owned.

Sounds like he is just wanting to build the wall at the original water line....not extending land outwards, which would need to be approved by SRA. Building a wall at the water line is perfectly okay, just not sure if it makes a lot of sense with the lake being so low. We are a long time away from full pool.

Try Floyd Fowler, 903-285-5032. He does a lot of that stuff out at Fork.

Get used to this because it will be the new normal for a lot of lakes i vet unless we get a hurricane close to dfw....

otherwise i will go ahead with your plan, sounds like a good idea.

Well. I don't know if this applies to lake front property, but I have a beach front home on Galvesyon island and my property extends to the current water line. Whatever it may be. I have the right to build a retaining wall anywhere along my water line. Again, whatever it may be. That said, it's a beach. So no need. Haha. The bad thing about my property size being so flexible, is that in the event of erosion, or changing water levels is this. If the water level rises or relocates enough to penetrate UNDER my pilings, my house then belongs to the state. And I cannot do [censored] about it. At that time it is Mother Nature reclaiming what is hers.

I would think that your property line in a lake front situation would be very similar. It would extend to legal boundaries on the sides that are not water and would flucuate to maintain the waters edge as the boundary. I also am unclear here, with regards to water boundaries, but with my beach house I cannot not dis allow access to the beach part from anyone. My property is mine, and is private, but the beach areas are always considered public.
