I've decided to go with the Lowrance Elite 7 chirp. Been doing a ton of reading, research, and decided it's worth the extra 100 dollars for the chirp over the dsi. I have seen where there is an option for the 83/200, instead of the 83/200 455/800. What is the difference in only having the 83/200. Having trouble finding it, but it's 100 dollars less. I'm wondering if not having the 455/800 eliminates the dsi?

That's correct. 455/800khz are imaging frequencies, so if you don't have them you won't have down imaging.

Correct. The Elite 7 with 83/200 will do 2d sonar and gps, it will not do down imaging. The Elite 7 with 83/200 and 455/800 does 2d sonar, gps and down imaging.

In Lowrance's product line an 'X' in the model number indicates no GPS-Mapping in the unit.
