Does anyone modify their baits? I'm looking for some new ideas to try. I've only upgraded the hooks on mine and added split rings.

Cast these little suckers near wood or vegetation, vary your retrieve, and these things still produce explosive strikes.

This was the lure that got introduced me to bass fishing.

Over all these years of fishing top waters, I put a turquoises stripe on all my spooks as well as any top water. As the bait is twitched it dips under the water and turns a little sideways.
Of course some like the spook does this much more defined than other baits. None the less even Torpedos will make that side dip. This flashes a ghost image under the surface that big bass cannot resist.

The stripe painted on the side has holographic glitter of 5 colors representing the scales of bait fish. I have a formula for this and add it to the paint. This makes all the difference in getting the Big Bite to take place. I am not saying it will double your big bass size on the torpedo; but you will see a remarkable difference.

I had some crank baits painted to match my tournament spooks and will be testing them in Mexico this March. They look great and I expect them to produce the same results on big fish.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I like the stripe idea. Thanks!
