How bout it? I'd love to see some tournaments in the south. We've got some outstanding and very under rated crappie lakes in south Texas.

I would definitely be on board to fishing a tourney in south Texas. Which lakes would you consider to be under rated?

Falcon Choke,Mathis,Amistad, etc. These never have tournaments for crappie anglers. I figured we might have to get things going ourselves.

Yes for sure. I don't understand why crappie clubs don't ever come down this way. Our chain lakes of rivers are also amazing. Not to mention our weather is fantastic most of the time while the north part of the state is still real cool.

Probably the same reason the sports stores here in Houston do not do seminars and sell lots of good crappie stuff. The salt water fishing outshines the freshwater fishing. That is the only reason I can think of. I would surely be a part of any crappie club for the south that someone wants to put together. I may be able to help if someone does the tip of the spear work.

Not that no one has, but I don't remember ever seeing it and I've been on this forum for a long time. I've often wondered about the crappie fishing down there. I believe if there were some good reports coming from south texas, it would get more interest. Best of luck.

Even though it's not deep south Texas, I consider this south central Texas!

I post about Lake Houston, Somerville, Conroe, Gibbons, Fayette and Livingston here and on other sites. Mostly other sites as they have specific lake forums made for each lake and state. Would help here. Got to get the most info from the least amount of sites I say.

Actually, I fished it a couple of times in CAT tournaments. How far south are we talking about?

Yep... Somerville Houston Conroe Posted others but like I said I post more on other sites with state or lake specific topics. I would think "south" would be anything in Texas below Dallas to the coast.
