COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

That looked like me with my other ranger I owned, got caught in a big northern storm that blew in on Sam rayburn, was fun but also nerve racking, I was soaking wet when I made it back to the ramp

It is at this point I say: I'm thankful I was not a passenger. That sort of ride is hard on the body and a passenger can be easily bounced out of or ejected during operation of a boat in that manner under those extreme conditions. Definitely not the way to operate a boat in rough water. Of course, I'm aware the video was created years earlier to use a marketing piece and as a means of communicating Ranger's commitment to building a quality product with safety in mind. Forrest Wood built a quality product - no doubt. Owned a Ranger in the late 80s. Stepped into and behind other boats which appeared to have a much improved hull design in terms of comfort. I use to steer away from aluminum boats due to having to navigate turbulent waters - like Texoma and Tawakoni. Funny thing though, after riding in some of the deep - V aluminums, I walked away feeling comfortable and safe. An individual's experience, driving skills and decision making come into play as well. In any case, experiencing less than favorable conditions in a couple of different models of aluminum boats forced me to rethink my position.

Got that once on Texoma in my 12 foot inflatable pontoon. It could not sink me but I got soaked. Had water running through the lure catch constantly. The pontoons went straight into every big wave. The really bad gusts threatened to flip the boat over. I have my feet locked under the floor slat in front of me so I wouldn't fall off. I always check the wind now before going. If I was in the 175 tracker I bet I would have filled with water.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Think I might have just walked home. Seriously though, what would be the best way to handle your boat in waves like that? I know this was just a Ranger promotion and that operator was either a pro or on dope. Do you go slow and easy or try and get on top ( I think this would cause you to spear a wave)?
To whom much is given, much is required.
