I'm new and this is my first rig, but I notice not just on mine but almost ALL have VERY SHORT and SMALL WINDSCREENS? Lord, it's only plexiglass. Wonder why they don't make them just a 'little bit taller' to block wind and rain. Does this bother anyone else? Maybe it's just me... God Bless

A 1oz jig is tough on a windshield. The higher the windshield, the more apt is to get in the way.

Just a low profile design for going fast, less resistance when the wind is blowing you around and in heavy cover less to get knocked around or broken.
The older I get the closer I watch the wind and weather conditions. Tomorrow will be a better day to ride behind that short shield.

That's for sure Donald. I have tried to 'seek shelter' behind mine in a rain storm. Sure was not any help at all. Sure can't wear a hat of any kind, blows off... I think mine is about 6" above the instrument panel. Just another 6" more in height couldn't create that much resistance. Just wondering... Motorcycle helmet or paintball masks look funny but they'll keep the rain from peppering your face.

You can get a larger shield for that boat. Call Carol at C&O Marine. I switched to the higher one, makes a world of difference.

That was the first place I called. Carol said the did not have anything after (bless her heart) looking and measuring many). However, she did give me the name of a company "Custom Mold & Tint Inc." in Arkansas. Looks like if I want that 'extra 6"' of protection, going to have to contact them. How much did you raise yours, if you don't mind my asking? I'm only looking for something like 12" in height above the instrument panel. God Bless You can get a larger shield for that boat. The ones I got from C & O are 8"-10" above the console. When I called carol she asked if I wanted the low or high profile shield.

So why don't someone make a windshield adapter say 6-10" that the boat owner could put on and take off when they need to?

To block more wind, the shield doesn't have to be as tall as you probably think. All it needs is some type of lip that directs it higher and over the head. There's only so much you are going to block regardless because it will come around the sides also. As far as rain, if it were high enough to fully block the rain, you'd probably then have problems in seeing through it without wipers.
The higher it is, the more you will end up hitting it and eventually cracking it. It will also become more of a sail if you have the wind to your back.
'd get a full face helmet of some sort and then you'd have the best of both worlds on good days and bad.

Been caught in the rain and that is all that happened to me. Thus, search for a 'taller' windcreen, I'm going to measure but I'm thinking 10 14" . Thanks, so I'm not the only one.... being 6'8" any boat windshield is a joke.. All it does is force more rain up into my face.
