Looking for some guidance on my Nitro 288 sport.
Just purchased a HB 999 SI unit.
Any suggestions on where to mount the SI transducer on the transom?
The bottom center of the transom has a recessed area for the livewell in/out ports.
Thinking of mounting the SI transducer on the step above the livewell port recess. Would mount it slightly off-center from the engine.
It would allow clean SI shot and clear the motor w/o a jackplate.
Bought a thru hull for high speed DI.
Thanks for input.
Don

The Side Imaging transducer needs left and right clearance for the SI pulses to function properly.
The SI pulses cover from the water's surface to past vertical under the transducer on both sides.
The shape of the "recess" may affect the performance.
