I am deciding on a future boat to pursue. I am wondering about the difference between these 19-20 foot boats while fishing in the wind. The avg weight I've found for 19ft boats is 1600 while the 20ft boats are around 1900. Is it a noticable difference when the wind is up in the 20's or 30's? How much will the boats get shoved/swung around? What are your experiences in your boats and what wind will you/can you tolerate?

If you have room to store the boat, you might consider the 20' rig. The 19' boat will do just as well in the wind though. Either boat needs a strong trolling motor and good marine deep cycle batteries.

Honestly, I have owned a lot of boats from 14' to 21' and never gave how it would be blown around in the wind a consideration when buying it. Deck size, speed, fishability, quality, etc....trump getting blown around in the wind. Just get a bigger trolling motor or a PowerPole. Bigger will always be better, in my opinion.

20 & 30 mph winds!!! Bigger is always better in that kind of wind. AND biggest trolling motor available.
