Has anybody fished Lake Bardwell lately for catfish and have any luck. I havent been freshwater fishing in a couple of years, mainly do saltwater fishing but girlfriend wants to go. So since that lake is close than Lake Lavon going to try it out.

Yes there are some good catfish in there, but they move around like all fish so you just have to either fish where you csn (Banking it) or use your electronics to find them. But yes its a decent catfish lake. I have close to gotten skunked at tawok, and done very well at Bardwell, thu that's the same story on all lakes I've been. Don't discount Lake Waxahachie either. Good luck to ya!

Really never fished Wax for catfish just for bass so I would have no idea where to drift.

Bardwell is a great summer and fall lake. Dead of winter fishing was tougher for me there for some reason. Fun lake to fish though. Got to release those bigguns there tho...just not that many in there and takes 18+ years to get them that big.
