I will wade christmas bay over spring break. The south shoreline will be where i am fishing. I have texas tackle factory trout killers,killer flats minnow, and hackberry hustlers. I also have bone super spook jr. and various mirrolures and rattletraps and gold and silver spoons. Do i have a good chance of catching trout,redfish,flounder, and spanish mackeral. I have used before with some luck. If there are any baits i would need to get let me know.

I like the look of the Livetarget shrimp but they are pricey. They sure look like they would work well. I may have to order some. It is always fun prepping for a fishing trip.

Sounds like you have a pretty good start on the tackle, don't for get popping corks, and as much as I hate to say it Gulp can be very effective, especially under a cork. I personally have not fished Christmas Bay. But if I did I would pay attention to water clairity, dark baits for off color and light color baits for clearer water. Top water should be very effective by SB. They are already eating it on the right day. Also pay attention to tides and major minor feeding periods. If you don't already use it Tides4fishing.com is a good resource. If I was gonna fish Christmas Bay I would probably see if I could find a map and locate structure. One last thing.....Google Earth is your friend. Good luck, hope some of this helps.

All those should work.Norton Sand eels work great to. DOA shrimp under a cork. Spanish Mack will destroy plastics and regular line. If thats what your after get some good leaders. I actually went old school lately and started throwing spinner baits again. Had some good hits.

Ok thanks. I do use tides4fishing and it really helps. I will look on google maps for some more spots. I do not have chartreuse/ plum baits. What kind would you recommend? I will look into some leaders for Spanish mackerel.

Ok thanks hopefully u can get something. I will try to get those baits. This is off topic but wlould an Abu Garcia ambassador reel be a good choice for those baits also which rod would you recommend for it.

Use your bass rod and reel if you can. Many times the ambassador reel are a little less precise and don't handle the lighter lures as well. Ways that you can use what you have is to throw your plastics under a small cork. The cork will add some casting weight for you cast the bigger real. Spinner baits and spoons would cast well with that reel as well. Your topwaters will cast fine as well. You should be able to get it done.

One note, don't just walk out blind, look for baitfish or some sign to key in on the structure (drop off, oyster, grass edge, channel edge etc. Don't fish dead water. find the bait, find the fish.

I bought Grinder55's wadefishrockport DVD and book and it gives you all the good wade fishing area's. I would recommend it highly! Thanks Grinder! I will be down there in about three weeks so hope fishing is good.

Christmas bay has definite tide changes and you want to find the bait

That time of year throw a mirror lure top dog, catch 2000 or soft plastic like a bass assassin or trout killer
