any time a dealer, any kind of dealer, tells me something is "mint" the radar goes off. nothing used is mint. you know you can dress up a pig but it's still a pig. walking away from a boat that you've already pictured yourself in will be one of the hardest things you'll ever do but unless you can get this leaning thing completely discovered and fixed BEFORE you sign any papers, you have to leave this one alone. best of luck which ever way you decide to go.

Yes trim up. That could cause some pretty noticeable pull if it's trimmed all the way down on plane. You may want to have some one show you the ins and outs of driving a boat before you buy one and take it out. Just to keep yourself and others on the water safe.

prop turns to the right, running w/o trimming could make the boat "lean"
get a 2nd opinion than the dealer you are dealing with, if you do not trust their opinion

First check your weight distribution. If it doesn't have hydraulic steering, adjust the trim tab right above the prop. After you get on plane, start to trim your motor up to reach optimal speed and rpm's. Ask the seller to give you ride and see how it rides with him driving. If nothing changes look for something else. Please take a boaters safety coarse to learn proper boating there are enough idiots on our lakes already. Good luck

You the buyer do NOT have to figure out what the problem is, the SELLER does. If he/she doesn't resolve it, like others have told you, MOVE ON. There are a LOT of boats out there for sale as stated above. You want your first boat to be problem free as it can be or you will be soured on bass boats and bass fishermen who sell their boats. Have the seller take it to a dealer and he pays, you go with him and let them tell you whats the problem. Listen to a trained/qualified marine mechanic!! Good Luck, God Bless

Has the bottom of the boat ever had any work or repairs done on it? Me and my buddy were at Toledo Bend last year and he knocked a hole about the size of a softball in the bottom of his boat. He had a Gorilla Hull installed on his boat. It has leaned to one side or the other ever since. The guy that installed it will work on it and it will lean toward the other side. He will bring it back and it will lean slightly the other way. He hasn't had any leaks but they still don't have his exactly right. I know they sand a little off on one side or the other to try to get it right but as of today it still leans a little to the port side. I'm not saying this is your problem but it could be something similar to this. I wouldn't buy that boat your looking at until the problem is resolved. Good luck.

Could easily be a trim issue and it could lean more on a smaller boat

If the boat is in truly mint condition then It has t be a weight distribution issue. check and balance everything. Especially if its a smaller boat (17-18') is the fuel tank on that side? where is everything stored? Very good point about the jack plate bolts also. Check them. Even if they are slightly off the motor at speed is going to run true.... meaning if the are off boat could lean to one side..

Thanks for the tips! I will definitely investigate it. The tank is on the passenger side. I'll take her for another ride and see if trimming up helps. If any of you guys want to go out with me to give me some pointers and maybe see what you think than I'd appreciate it!

Start by trimming the engine all the way down and then bump it up a half inch or so, then nail the throttle, wait till the hull breaks over and then slowly start to trim up, you'll hit a sweet spot eventually. Watch your water pressure gauge and always keep 12-15lbs of water pressure. After a few trips you'll get the hang of it... And try to get the owner/ dealer to take you for a ride and driving tips...
