Some lakes will never fill back up, some will and have already. The one everybody wants to fill back up the most "FORK" will never fill back up. Saying "NEVER" in regards to Mother Nature usually makes one eat their words. your right, except Mother Nature doesn't control the growing amount of people that require this water

Going to end up like Vegas where you can't have grass... just rocks and cactus in your front yard. Back yards cannot have more than 50% turf coverage or 100 sq ft whichever is greater. Apartment complexes and businesses need to get slammed around here in DFW. No telling how much water they use to keep grass green. Some complexes seem to water nightly or at least 4-5 nights a week.

They will fill back up they always do. I think so . But they will draw down faster every time . The vast amount of growth in the north texas area is taking its toll on the resource , water parks 1000s of new pools and fracking , and the water used on new concrete , Iam surprised we have any water left. God is in control of the weather but we the people better start thinking about how we use his life giving resource .

Always a head scratcher when you're driving to a lake that's half full and ya pass a housing complex with it's sprinklers dumping enough water to cause runoff into the streets.

DFW lakes will never be the same.
Even if a hurricane parked over us and filled them all up, how many people move to north Texas every day? How many new homes and business are being completed daily?
Even if we had "normal" rainfall from here on out we are using more and more every day.
Warmer months are coming soon... Make sure your sprinkler systems are up to par fellas...gotta keep that grass green right? Heck I guess everybody could quit washing their cars, taking baths, making coffee or tea, right ?

The real head scratcher is why power boat guys cant accept the fact that the water is there for watering lawns, etc. Lakes aren't there for you to fish, its just a bonus.

I've been saying it for a while, we will never see steady full pool lake levels on any lake that gets water drawn out of it for the metro mess again.
We have way out grown our supply. A 9-11 million increase to the state population since we have built a major reservoir statewide. That is only counting the documented population, add in another 3-6 million illegals.
I have talked to guides at Fork that are already doing the "what if" of moving to another lake.
It was fun while it lasted.....

Water from Fork being sold to Dallas, .20 cents a gallon. A lot of it for fracking water... No one is Fracing near Dallas or the metromess, Fracing is not the culprit! Population increases are closer to the truth. Golf courses use more water in a week than all the fracing combined in North TX. in a 6 month period.
I am not making any decisions until the bourbon kicks in!

Check out The Dallas Morning News website for an article about dredging planned for Lavon and the City of Dallas suing Sabine River Authority because SRA raised raw-water rates to Dallas in November.

Plus the fact the tree huggers manage to block every reservoir that is planned to be built for the last 20 years.
