How far up a creek have you seen sandies go?
Also how long do you think the small ones live in the creek before heading down stream?

Caught some today way up a creek that feeds Lewisville.

I walked up Rock Creek at PK in 2012 when it still had running water in it. Every little pot hole was full of white bass. I'd throw a jig spinner in the little pot hole and have a dozen sand bass would chase the one I hooked back to me. I'm sure all of them died, as that entire creek went dry.

I think that unless there is a dam or some other un-negotiable obstacle you'll have sand bass in a creek above a lake that is holding them.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Sand bass will go as far up the creek or river as obstructions and water flow will allow.

On good to heavy rain years, I have found them MILES from the main lake! I kinda agree with "as far as obstructions and water flow will allow."

Caught more yesterday morning and some small fat largemouths. They really did travel along way through some shallow/skinny water to make it to these deeper holes.
Water in the creek also went down about six inches from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning.
Funny thing is we went down stream closer to the lake to fish deeper holes and didn't even get a bite.

I have caught them several miles up stream from the lake before, like over 5 miles from the lake.
