 Help with Elite-5 CHIRP Chartfinder please.

I have a PA 14 that I just installed a Lowrance Elite-5 CHIRP fishfinder/chartplotter on. I pushed the "power on" button and stood back a bit, just in case, but all was well and it lit up. The unit appears to be functioning just fine except for one thing. The GPS thinks it is in Broken Arrow, OK when it is really in north Texas. I went through the menus but could not get the GPS to locate itself.
Conditions: The boat is on sawhorses in my metal shop building. Is the metal building keeping the GPS from working? Seems like the cellphone GPS works most anywhere.
Anyway, throw a line and tell me what I am doing wrong please.

I'm about to put the elite 7 chirp on my pa14. I was wondering if the transducer fits the same as what I have now, (elite 5 dsi) Sounds like it does?

The transducer for the 5 installed exactly as shown. No trouble at all.

The transducer for the 5 should be the same as the 7, only diff is screen size? Just want to be sure.
