I've decided to try my hand in rod building. I've ordered all the necessary tools and equipment to start. I also ordered a 7wt tfo ticr blank for my first rod. I'll post pics along the way once I get started on it.

I am trying to resist that temptation right now.

I have a 8 weight blank, cork, reel seat all ready to go....unfinished project of my grandfathers. One day I will finish it for him. thumb

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

I will tell you first hand it will take all your time more than fly fishing. But if you are certain to do it, 1. Don't go for perfection, you'll go crazy. It's hand built and little mistakes make it yours. 2. Take your time trying to get the wrapping down can be grrrrrrrerr. Step away from the pole, don't throw it or kick the cat. 3. Dry fit every thing first. Pain to heat epoxy to cut it off. 4. Enjoy it, catching a fish on rod u built is great.

I started in January 2015 so I'm noooo expert, I've only built 3 so far.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!
