What is the best area, genera location, to catfish. I know no one is going to give up a honey hole, I'm just looking for a general area. I dry-stacked at Emerald Pt, but I don't mind going up the lake to fish..

boy, with that lake being 60 foot low, I wouldn't know where to even tell you where you can unload a boat . There were using dink pearson just backing out into the lake but I don't think you can even do that now. The narrows was always the best place to go but it probably doesn't have water now. Might try granger

I don't have any problem launching. I dry stack at Emerald Point. I see the bass guys launching at Dink all the time. That would be a little dicey for me.

I fish Lake Travis pretty regularly from a kayak. Depending on the weather, I've had good luck drift fishing over the river channel in 38-48 ft of water. They may be moving shallower soon though, usually by March I start catching them in 3-25 ft of water. I launch from the shores of the parks in Lago Vista, so I mainly stick around that part of the lake. I'll be out there tomorrow, but I'm not sure which area I'll be launching at.
I usually just paddle around til I start seeing schools of baitfish on my fish finder and then put out the drift sock.

I love lake Travis we have won a bunch of checks on that lake. You can launch no problem at lago vista or tournament point on peace bend. I have never put any catfish lines out but we have boated yellow cats up to 15 pounds just flipping brush in the spring. If I didn't live on Buchanan I would deffinatly hit Travis more often. Lots of bluffs and I heard stories of big yellow cats, I would bet the blues are in there as well as a ton of channels. It won't be long and you could catch all you want on a cork.
