I grabbed a BPS qualifier reel for 50 bucks this weekend in plans to build another cheap baitcast setup for just worms. First was a Mettle and vendetta rod I got for 25 bucks on sale. Good for 25 but not worth 80 IMO I get more sensitivity from my Pflueger President rod that came with that spinning combo.
I originally was eyeing the 7' Ethos with microguides and either waiting for it to go on sale and grab it for 40 bucks or be impatient and pay 70 but I just saw the Cabelas Tourney Trail is on sale right now for 30. I was all decided on a MH/F action but the Cabelas only comes in a medium fast tip for the MH rod so Now I'm stuck. :\
So I have 2 vendetta rods. The one casting ($25) and one spinning I paid full price for so I'm not itching to spend 90 or 100 bucks on a rod that underwhelms again. All of those are 6'6"M/F setups for more versatility but now that I'm building my lineup I can go for a dedicated Texas rig hence the 7'MH option. Any advice? Am I on the wrong track with 7' MH/F for worming?

I caught a DD on my Ethos, and have caught many many others. I think it's a nice rod. I have also used it on the coast and it has handled a 20 pound drum and some big redfish too.

I have the ethos micro and I was gonna get a second, I ended up picking up another TFO instead. I will continue to worm fish the ethos, but it is stiffer than a medium heavy, and the medium is so thin I feel it will break. If you find the micro for 40, jump on it. I paid 80 2 years ago and have been pleased. You can flat send a fish airborn on a hook set with that ethos... I did catch 2 over 7 on it and plenty of 4 and 5 lbers. It has taken a beating and not broken.

Ethos are great rods for the money. I use one for flipping. It's worth every bit of the $80.00 retail price.

Just a suggestion: Walmart Berkly 7'or shorter lengths available for around $40. I just ordered one for about the same thing your looking to use it for. Have a fishing buddy who loves them so much, LOL, he bought 7 of these. Berkley Lightning Casting Rod Medium Heavy, Style: 1pc $38.46 I will be using a new TATULA-R100HL 6.3.1 reel with it. Will be using for Carolina Rig/crankbaits/etc. Google and take a look. Price is sure cheap enough... Might want to take a look...not a high end rod for sure but, Berkley has a great name in fishing equipment. God Bless

I own a Ethos 7'3" Heavy Fast with micro guides..I used it for Carolina riggin' mostly but threw a few worms and jigs on it too. Its a great rod for small $...light with good feel and backbone for the hookset. In my opinion the Ethos 7' MH would make a great worming rod for someone on a budget. The reason I retired the EthosMG73H was the micro guides. When using braid with a leader the knot catches a little in that tiny tip top guide...just enough to be annoying....otherwise it was a good rod for the money.

Go with the Ethos - as mentioned that is a great blank and it is lighter than the TFO rod mentioned earlier. I have both and fish the Ethos the majority of the time.
