The Guadalupe River Chapter of Trout Unlimited (aka "The Texas Chapter") will hold its 8th annual Troutfest on the Guadalupe at Sattler February 20-22. Featured speakers and guests include Frank Smethurst, Wanda Taylor, Pat Dorsey and Kelly Galloup. There's a fund raising banquet and auction Friday evening, followed by two days of classes, exhibitions and fun. There's a charge for the banquet, but the Saturday and Sunday sessions are free. This is a fantastic free event that is well worth coming to every year. I'll be tying at some point at one of the tables, just not sure when exactly. Even if you don't trout fish, it's worth coming this year just to pick Kelly Galloup's brain on streamer design -- it applies for pretty much all predatory fish, including bass.
I hope to see many of you there.

I'll be tying there as well. Kelly is scheduled for two or three demo tying sessions over the weekend. The latest Fly Fishing Film Tour will also be shown Saturday night on the banks of the Guadalupe.
