We fished hard all day and caught two dinks. What were you guys doing?

I only get to go out once or twice a year with my dad and today was one of them. Hate to struggle like that with him out there. I don't get out that much myself, but it's even worse when it's not just me.

Fished from 2:00 to 4:30 today and had 5 bites all on a jig. All fish were 6' or shallower and wanted a black and blue jig. None were bigger than 4lbs or so but were all slot fish. They would absolutely knock slack in it when they ate it. Did not fish too hard. Played around with the new TM and some new gear. Its gonna get better and better. Water temps 47-53 and surprised at how much grass is still left. Fun afternoon.

Going with him. We are pastors, need all the help we can get. Bringing a cop that goes to our church. Sounds like a joke..."two preachers and a cop are heading to Fork..."

Fish are starting to show up and the bite definitely picked up the last couple days! It's only going to get better! First thing in the am and then from 3-dark has been the best for me!

Man, are you guys fishing a different lake? Only two we caught were right in the middle of the day...

The key for me is getting away from the community holes and find some water most are not fishing. Those fish in Birch and Glade get RatLTrapped too death.

I agree with Mark. I went back to a spot I fished years ago. Only saw 1 other boat. And yes, they knocked slack on the jig bite. But its hard for me to put down the DS.

Just wish I would have had a longer leash on my trolling motor and could have fished longer. But....the parts ordered and Ill be back on the water next week searching!

Wasn't on Fork but a private pond in Mineola. Getting near time for jerkbaits on the bigger lakes, I imagine. Caught some nice jerkbait fish yesterday including a 7 and a 5 which are TOADS for this pond. They were in about 4 feet of water and smoked that jerkbait.
