Hi guys I'm new to this forum but have been lurking for a while. I mainly fish Lake Livingston in the Houston area, but have fished texoma, lbj, and a few other lakes. I know on texoma lots of the guides and locals use splashers on their trolling motors on the stern of the boat. I have been with a guide on that lake and it looks like splashers draw fish in. Other lakes don't really use splashers as much and it seems thumping is more prevalent. My question is, which is actually better? I know for a fact that thumping works as I have used it for 2 winters in a row and even other times of the year. It takes about $10 or less to make a thumping stick, but splashers use an additional trolling motor. George from Sunshine Grayline tanks has an attachment for the trolling motor. I know he makes quality products as his bait tanks are phenomenal. Adding a bracket and all for the unit would take a little bit more than $10. I'd love to hear from you guys. Any and all information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have seen George's deal and it is pretty slick, it usually takes a little extra to make a good product work with no worries, his rig is worth the effort.
I thump.

George's splasher works very well and once adjusted to the right position it doesn't splash water into the boat. I have a variable speed Minnkota that I use it on and run the motor about as slow as I can. Fish seem to follow as you drift much better while running the splasher. That's just the experience I've had with it so I use it all the time deadsticking and slabbing. Good luck.
