I have been looking at these but was no to sure how well they work. A little steep on the price to take a chance on.

I agree. The only reason I took a chance with it was because I am really hoping to keep schools around a little bit longer. :-) Otherwise, it will be converted into a very expensive sleep enhancement noise machine.

Direct from the guy who makes the Hydrowave.

If you're not fishing for slimy green bass then get the Original Hydrowave, add the Striper Thump and the Bait Fish module and you're good to go. He claims that the bait fish module will keep schooling fish around the boat much better than the thump.

I found the original unit at Cabela's for $299.99 and then there's a $70 rebate. Also if you're unhappy with a Hydrowave unit the President of the company will buy it back from you.

I've heard of people doing but never seen it done. What do you use to thump with?

Might want to give it more than 12 hours to see what kind of replies you get before you tell us all how upset you are. Not everyone can be on here everyday. Looks like you got a lot of info on this thread.

I strongly dislike the thumping, but I have seen it at work and the results are amazing. I am not talking about a one or two time deal, I have seen this over an extended period of time and not limited to a person or two. I have seen professional guides utilize the technique over and over. I would much rather not have to thump or even be close to thumping. I consider myself to be objective and conservative person and I would say with no doubt it works. Thankfully this seems to be limited to the winter months. If it catches fish I would say thump on brother thump on!

I get tired of thumping after about 5 min. I'll be looking into the hydrowave soon since I'm lazy.
